Sony Alpha Mirrorless Cameras, Compact Cameras & Lenses Rumors
Polish website Optyczne recently paid a visit to Sony Japan, and had an interview with Sony managers from Sony Japan. According to the interview, Sony currently is developing longer telephoto full frame E-mount mirrorless lenses in the near future. As rumored before, Sony may release FE 135mm lens and FE 400mm lens in 2018.
As we posted before, the only camera to be announced in 2017 will be Sony RX100 VI compact camera, it is likely to be announced on October 25th at PhotoPlus 2017.
After Sony announced FE 12-24mm f/4 G lens (Amazon/B&H/Adorama) and FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM lens (Amazon/ B&H/Adorama) in May, 2017, there is no new Sony products announced until now. According to previous rumors, below are a list of Sony cameras and lenses to be announced in 2017 to 2018.
According to recently rumors on SAR, Sony will announce the upcoming super telephoto prime lens in this Q3 of 2017. This lens will be a FE 400mm GM lens, currently unknown whether f/2.8 or f/4. As rumored before, there are already prototype lens in testing.

After announcement of two new FE wide-angle zoom lenses several weeks ago, next FE lenses from Sony will be Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 lens and Sony FE 400mm f/4 lens. Both lenses are rumored to be announced together in this Summer. Will be announced before Sony Alpha a7III (Coming in this Fall).
At early this year, we first posted rumors about Sony will announce a 400mm super telephoto prime lens in 2017. Now according to SAR, a new super telephoto prime lens is rumored to be announced soon. This lens will be a 400mm prime lens, the aperture of this lens hasn’t yet confirmed, it will mostly like f/4, or even f/2.8.
