After Sony Alpha a9 (Amazon/B&H Photo/Adorama) officially announced, next high-end full frame mirrorless camera will probably a high megapixel camera, and the name will be Sony a7R III or a9R. According to recently rumors on SAR, a7R III or a9R will have a 60-70 MP full frame sensor, the announcement of this camera will be after 3-4 months from now, that means we may see Sony a7R III or a9 later this year.

Brain Smith has posted 20+ top features for upcoming a7 series mirrorless cameras. The rumored release date for these three cameras could be sometime in 2017.
A new source today told us that replacement of Sony a7R II: Sony Alpha a7R III will be announced around Q2, 2017. The source also said a new mirrorless camera targeted for professional photographers will be coming first, could this camera be the long rumored Sony Alpha a9 or A-mount cameras.
