As rumored before, Sony will announce a new camera in this October, 2018 before PhotoPlus EXPO. Now according to latest rumors, this camera will be a new high-end APS-C mirrorless camera. The rumored named could be a7000/a6800/a6700 or whatever else. We just temporarily call it Sony a7000.
As Photokina 2018 is coming soon, Sony also launched a web page for this event on September 26 to September 29. Tomorrow, Sony will probably announce two new FE lenses: FE 24mm f/1.4 GM Lens and FE 135mm f/1.8 GM Lens. And after Photokina 2018, Sony will announce a7S III or a6700/a6800/a7000 before PhotoPlus EXPO in late October, 2018.
As we told you before, Sony is going to not announce anything for the upcoming Photokina. But to reaction with just announced Canon EOS R and Nikon Z6/Z7, Sony has just changed their mind and decided to make a new E-mount mirrorless camera announcement before Photokina 2018 on September 26.
Sony is rumored to announce a new APS-C mirrorless camera features like a baby Sony a9. Previous rumors said that it will be called Sony a6700. Now according to latest rumors, the name of this camera will be called Sony a7000, and will be displayed at upcoming Photokina 2018 in September.
As rumored before, Sony a6700 will be a mini Sony a9, and the officially announcement will be later this year. Currently, there is no new Sony camera code registered, this means we will probably see no new cameras announced around Photokina 2018 next month. According to Nokishita Camera, Sony just registered a new camera code name “WW 213188”. This camera is only Wi-Fi installed, while Bluetooth not installed.
Sony recently registered a new camera code WW771132 in China, which means a new camera will be announced in next 2-3 months. Currently, the most likely to be announced cameras are a7S III and a6700. The Sony a6700 will be the flagship APS-C mirrorless camera to replace currently a6500.
