As rumored before, Sigma will announce their FE lenses for Sony full frame mirrorless cameras around CP+ Show in early March. Now according to leaked weibo from Sigma China (Now deleted), they confirmed a lot of new lenses is coming very soon, Sigma already have many new lenses for Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras, so these upcoming lenses will probably Sigma FE lenses for Sony full frame mirrorless cameras.
In a recently interview with Sigma’s CEO Kazuto Yamaki by Sigma Canada, Kazuto Yamaki said again that they will making Sigma lenses for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras and FE mount mirrorless cameras. He didn’t told us about whether new Sigma FE lenses will have new designs or same old design as Canon/Nikon mount lenses.
A quick update on release date of first Sigma FE lens. First Sigma lens will be Sigma FE 35mm f/1.4 AF lens or Sigma FE 35mm f/1.2 AF lens, this lens will announced in this Summer of 2017. The size of this Sigma FE lens will be very small, size between Zeiss FE 35mm f/1.4 lens and Zeiss FE 35mm f/2.8 lens.
