At CP+ Show, French website Focus-numerique interviewed the Sigma CEO about recently announced 9 Sigma FE lenses (Pre-order at B&H Photo Video and Adorama.com) and upcoming Sigma lens plan for Sony full frame mirrorless cameras. Sigma CEO confirmed that they will develop new lenses designed exclusively for Sony full frame mirrorless cameras.
Sigma today has officially announced two new art lenses: Sigma 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens and Sigma 70mm f/2.8 DG Macro Art Lens. Both are available for Sony E-mount for Sony full frame mirrorless cameras. Currently these two lenses are still in development, price and release date is not available yet, stay tuned for more info.
As rumored before, Sigma will announce their FE lenses for Sony full frame mirrorless cameras around CP+ Show in early March. Now according to leaked weibo from Sigma China (Now deleted), they confirmed a lot of new lenses is coming very soon, Sigma already have many new lenses for Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras, so these upcoming lenses will probably Sigma FE lenses for Sony full frame mirrorless cameras.
Japanese website Nokishita-Camera has posted the Japanese price for the recently announced Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens for Sony E-mount. The Japanese price for this lens include tax is JPY 54000, US price around $449 at launch. This lens will be available for pre-order on November 9th, 2017, you can check pre-order option at B&H Photo Video.
