Sony Alpha Mirrorless Cameras, Compact Cameras & Lenses Rumors
Not only are there all these announcements for APS-C, Sony is again updating its flagship a9 with new features. Firmware version 6.0 is due out in September, and will add Real-time Eye AF for Animals and Interval Shooting for Time Lapse. Both features are notable and it is very important to see that Sony is supporting its existing lineup of cameras, effectively making them a new camera with continuous firmware updates.
Sony expands the native mirrorless E-mount lens lineup with two new zooms for the APS-C lineup. The new G-series 16-55mm F2.8 G (B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon) and 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS Super-Telephoto (B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon) expand the Sony ‘One-Mount’ concept and bring the E-mount lens total to 54 (as of August of 2019). Sony today has officially announced two new APS-C camera bodies, expanding the mirrorless line giving creators more options for photos and 4K video. Both the Sony a6600 (B&H/Adorama/Amazon) and a6100 (B&H/Adorama/Amazon) have 24.2 megapixel image sensors, 4K video capability, built-in timelapse intervalometers, flip screens and microphone jacks.
